Col de l'Écre from Vence

This route heads straight into the deep, wooded canyon of the Loup valley, where the road begins to rise quickly beneath high rock walls and dense greenery. The atmosphere feels cool and enclosed at first, with the sound of the river below and the sense of climbing away from the Riviera into something wilder and more rural.

Higher up, the road becomes more sinuous as it winds past Gourdon and continues toward Col de l Ecre. The return follows the upper Loup valley before descending the steady slopes of Col de Vence, finishing with wide views and a smooth run back into Vence.
