The Erlaitz climb is a legendary Basque "wall" that tests even the most seasoned cyclists. It is one of those climbs that every cyclist in the Basque Country speaks about with a mix of respect and a bit of fear.

The road hits you hard right from the start. You will find yourself clicking into your easiest gear almost immediately as the climb already starts with a steep section before you hit the "wall" section with 13%+ gradients.

Once you leave the dark sections of the climb and reach the Hamlet of Erlaitz the gradients become a lot easier to handle.
