Col de Braus from Sospel

From Sospel this side of Braus feels quieter and more enclosed, climbing steadily through woodland before revealing its famous sequence of stacked hairpins cut into the rock. The road has a natural rhythm but includes sharper ramps and the setting feels more remote than the approach from L’Escarène.

As you rise above the trees the switchbacks become the visual highlight, each turn opening a wider view back down toward Sospel and the valley below. It is a climb that combines steady effort with dramatic road engineering, making it one of the most memorable ascents in the region from either side.
