Reservoir Loop

Distance
111 km
Elevation
1320 m
Difficulty
hard

For a fresh change of scenery, the Reservoir Loop heads toward the High Fens in Belgium. After about 40 kilometers, you’ll reach the Gileppe Reservoir and roll along the lakeside for a few kilometers. Atop the dam stands a striking 13.5-meter-high lion statue that you can see from quite a distance.

From the lake, climb the Côte des Sangliers and descend into Eupen. You can refuel here or press on toward the Eupen Lake. As you approach, the massive Weser Dam comes into view. At the top, you can ride across the dam before looping around the entire lake. From there, the route takes you back into Limburg, with a few smaller hills still waiting along the way.
