Lagoons and Reservoir Loop

This flat loop from Santa Pola links together the southern wetlands and farmland of Alicante. It begins through the salt flats of Santa Pola, then heads inland past Elche’s huerta and the protected marshes of El Fondo and Els Carrisars. After looping around the vivid blue waters of La Pedrera reservoir, the route turns back toward the coast through the lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja. The scenery shifts between open farmland, bird-filled wetlands, and distant sea views. Guardamar del Segura makes for a good stop before the final stretch to Santa Pola.
