Puerto del Barco, cuesta del Chino and Axarquía from Antequera

Starting in Antequera you'll roll southeast toward Villanueva de la Concepción on smooth, steady roads. From there, the climb begins into the rugged slopes of Puerto del Barco.

A twisting descent follows. The road then heads east to Colmenar and tracks the river valleys through Riogordo. The effort builds gradually before the steep ramps of La Cuesta del Chino.

At the top, the landscape opens up. Wide views stretch across the Axarquía, with the rocky outline of Tajo de Doña Ana in the distance. A fast, scenic descent drops you into Villanueva del Trabuco. The ride finishes by looping through Archidona and flowing back to Antequera on open, rolling terrain.
