Mont Ventoux / Mont Ventoux from Malaucène

Mont Ventoux from Malaucène

Length
21.2 km
Elevation
1545 m
Gradient
7.3%

The most uneven of the three. Unlike Bedoin's long steady grind, this side constantly changes gradient. You get easier stretches followed by sharp ramps. It's harder to pace because the road never settles into a rhythm.

The climb starts in the forest and opens up higher on the mountain. The final section shares the same exposed upper slopes as the other routes. Comparable in difficulty to Bedoin on paper, but the irregular profile makes it feel different, more like a fight than a grind.
