Annecy / Col des Aravis from Flumet

Col des Aravis from Flumet

Length
11.6 km
Elevation
601 m
Gradient
5.2%

Leaving Flumet, the climb begins steadily through open valley scenery before gradually tightening as the road approaches the higher slopes below the col. The gradients remain relatively consistent and approachable, making it one of the more accessible major passes in the region, but the scenery steadily becomes more impressive as the climb develops. Wide alpine views begin to open toward the Aravis range, especially near the summit where the road feels broader and more exposed. It’s a climb that balances challenge and scenery without ever becoming overly aggressive.
