The notorious MoGaSt
The three giants around Bormio: the Mortirolo from Mazzo, the Gavia from Ponte di Legno, and the Stelvio from Bormio. You won’t find anything better. Cycling legends come alive on every kilometer of these iconic roads. One tip: the main road following the Oglio River from Monno to Ponte di Legno can be quite busy: use the bike path!
Bernina Classic
A classic loop starting from Bormio. After descending the Valtellina, the route climbs the Bernina from Tirano, just like the famous red train. Its tracks often cross the road, so stay alert! The return to Bormio takes you over the Forcola, Eira, and Foscagno passes.
Engadina Tour
A must-ride in Livigno. After climbing the Forcola and Bernina, launch yourself at full speed toward the Engadin. Here, it’s not uncommon to cover nearly fifty kilometers consecutively at over 40 km/h. After tackling half of the Forno Pass, return to Livigno via the tunnel (bike shuttles run every hour) and the lakeside galleries.
Mortirolo Per Favore
The Mortirolo offers countless routes, and here you’ll get a taste of a few. After a “gentle” approach from Grosio, before reaching Monno you’ll tackle the Recta Contador, a former mule track with gradients of up to 24%. Another highlight of the day is surely the ridge road between Monte Padrio and Trivigno.
