Pico de las Nieves is the most iconic ascent in Gran Canaria, covering roughly 42 km from Maspalomas to the island’s highest point. It is a long, rhythmic climb characterized by four distinct uphill sections separated by short descents. While the average gradient is modest, these downhill segments mask several steep ramps, particularly a challenging 3 km stretch after Ayacata where the incline consistently stays above 10%.

There are reliable spots to refuel with water and food in San Bartolomé and Ayacata, plus a food truck usually stationed at the top. Leaving early is recommended to avoid tourist traffic and the midday sun.
