The Urkiola climb from Mañaria is one of the classic ascents in Bizkaia. The road climbs steadily through forested slopes toward the sanctuary at the top, with very regular gradients that make it ideal for riding at tempo. It is not extremely steep but with an 8.4% gradient and almost 6km it is long enough to be demanding.
The setting inside Urkiola Natural Park gives it a real mountain atmosphere.
You can find the Sanctuary of Urkiola by turning right at the main intersection in the small town of Urkiola
