Les Deux Alpes

Length
8.7 km
Elevation
598 m
Gradient
6.9%

The main climb to Les Deux Alpes, a renowned mountain resort boasting one of France's largest ski areas. It became legendary thanks to the 15th stage of the 1998 Tour de France, when Marco Pantani managed to turn the race around with an incredible attack from far away.

The climb is neither long nor difficult. The gradient stays steady all the way to the top, never really biting hard enough to make you reach for the small ring. Those with good legs can climb at high speeds here.

When you're staying in town you'll finish each ride with this climb. The only alternative is taking the cable car from the other side of the mountain.
