On this coffee ride, we head north to the town of Marken, tucked on a small peninsula in the Markermeer. Until 1957, Marken was actually an island in the old Zuiderzee. Its classic wooden houses are a real draw for visitors.
Before heading back to the city, the route rolls through the historic center of Monnickendam. A perfect spot to stop for coffee.
If you’re feeling touristy, you can hop on the ferry from Marken to Volendam and ride back from there. Check the Marken Express website for the latest info.
