Road Cycling Routes near Houffalize

This route dives straight into the soul of the Ardennes. Right from the start, you’ll roll past Brasserie Chouffe, home of the iconic La Chouffe beer. From there, it’s a mix of rolling terrain that carries you to the scenic reservoir lake of Coo. A perfect spot to pause for a coffee or bite at Le Coffee Ride. From there, the RAVeL path rolls you into Stavelot, setting you up for the classic Col du Stockeu. After that punchy climb, you’ll drop down Côte de Wanne and head straight into Côte de Mont-le-Soie. The final stretch winds through the rolling countryside past Vielsalm, guiding you back to Houffalize. It’s a demanding but fun loop

Set out from Houffalize for this 90 km ride. It’s all ups and downs almost no flat cruising here. Midway through, you’ll climb the Col de Haussire, a climb that always makes an impression. Feeling strong at the end? Add a little bonus loop and take on the Côte de Saint-Roch. It’s short, steep, and the perfect way to cap off the day.

La Doyenne is one of the oldest and most legendary classics in road cycling. This route follows the 2025 edition, running from Liège to Bastogne and back again. Heading south through Houffalize, you'll take on the punchy Côte de Saint-Roch before rolling on to Bastogne. It’s not the toughest stretch, but there’s still plenty of climbing to keep things interesting. The ride back north is where it really kicks off. First up is the Col de Haussire near La Roche-en-Ardenne. Once you pass Vielsalm, the climbs come fast. You’ll take on iconic climbs like Côte de Wanne, Col du Stockeu, Col du Rosier, La Redoute, and Côte des Forges. The grand finale is the, recently added, Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons before you drop back into Liège. You can ride it solo, just be sure to prep well and plan your stops.
