From Freiburg to the Kandel
The Kandel is a must for all road cyclists in the Black Forest. The climb is long, but the view is all the more beautiful for it. You finally roll back through Glottertal to your starting point in Freiburg.
Through the Hundsbach Valley
The picturesque Hundsbach Valley is perfect for exploring by road bike. The road through the valley has little traffic and the landscape is like something out of a picture book. This tour takes you from the Murg Valley on a large loop through the valley and on to the Schwarzenbachtalsperre.
Round trip to the Kinzig Valley from Schramberg
The Kinzig Valley is also known as the Little Black Forest, as the region combines everything that makes the Black Forest so special. On this tour, you will get to know part of the picturesque valley with its challenging climbs and quiet roads.
From Freiburg via Schauinsland to the Rhine Valley
This route offers a great mix of elevation gain and flat terrain. You start in Freiburg and cycle up the local mountain, the Schauinsland. The climb is tough, but you'll be rewarded with a great view. Then you roll down into the Rhine Valley and enjoy the Mediterranean climate.
Loop to Furtwangen
Similar as the 'loop from Furtwangen' but with the start and finish in Freiburg adding roughly 80 kilometers more to the route. Note that after 88 kilometers there is a gravel section of ±2 kilometer which is doable on a roadbike. This saves you a 8 kilometer detour.
Brandenkopf Loop
The Brandenkopf is a great mountain to climb by bike: the ascent is challenging, but the view is fantastic. In the central Black Forest, you can often enjoy peace and quiet and make the most of the narrow Black Forest roads. The tour starts in Wolfach in the Kinzig Valley.
