Puerto de Bernia from Pinos
The Puerto de Bèrnia is a beautifll climb, just 14 km from Calpe and full of character.
Just after crossing the AP‑7, you head steadily uphill along a narrow road that feels more remote with every turn. As you leave the last houses behind, terraces of olive and almond trees give way to pines and dry scrub.
As the road gains height, the views open wide to the Peñón de Ifach and the blue line of the coast behind you. The higher you climb, the wilder the landscape gets, with sharp limestone outcrops, low vegetation and a series of switchbacks that cut across the upper slopes.
