This climb breaks away from the main road to Pico de las Nieves. After Santa Lucía, the route leaves the primary road. It narrows into a quiet e on the GC-654 where the road winds along the edge of the barranco toward Taidía.

The scenery becomes more dramatic here, with the striking face of Risco Blanco dominating the skyline. The road clings to the hillside and curves gently upward.

Road conditions are rough at places, traffic is almost non existent and the views are outstanding.
